I though I needed a dental specialist because I didn't think they could do anything about the infection the same day, but not only they prescribed me tot ake antibiotics for getting rid of infection and pain meds, but they treated the tooth with an emergency root canal. “I came to Brooklyn Dentist near Bensonhurst for a regular dental check-up. The front desk girls were very polite. I did not wait long. When I met the dentist, he was professional and explained to me what dental services were needed. I got the cost estimate for the dental cleaning and the cost of dental work I needed for future tooth implants, which was reasonable given the fact that I have a PPO dental insurance. Oh, I forgot to tell you it's so close to Brooklyn Prospect Park and Eastern PKWY, and there's lots of parking.”

“Oh my god, I will never stop saying good things about Dr. Shahin and his amazing staff (shoutout to Queen, Nicole and Diana). I had a tooth abscess in a tricky spot close to my nerves, and it was also my first time visiting an oral surgeon, so I was quite anxious. Dr. Shahin put me at ease, performed the tooth extraction and the drainage of the abscess procedure in-office and with no pain. He also responded to my many calls and texts during the recovery period. He also suggested over the counter medication for pain management that was very effective. “Most thorough dental cleaning ever, and it wasn't painful at all. Staff was helpful, friendly, and efficient. The dentist himself was conservative and upfront about recommendations for periodontitis cures; my gums had deteriorated compared to pre-pandemic (I skipped a few cleanings during the pandemic), and another dentist in Williamsburg tried to push a deep clean without explaining why. Brooklyn Dentist gave me options such as being diligent at home until my gums health improved or coming in for more frequent cleanings. I've since relocated to Bushwick, but I still go to Dr. Shahin, and my gums are back to normal without needing a deep clean.”

I first found Dr. Shahin when looking for a dentist near Dumbo that could provide an assessment of Invisalign to fix some bite issues. Dr. Shahin was incredibly detailed and thorough in his explanation, spending a good amount of time explaining everything, even the retainers and how to keep my teeth straight after the treatment. My case was very complex, so he referred me to an orthodontist to do the Invisalign despite being a certified Invisalign Provider himself. He has been my regular dentist despite the commute from Dumbo to Crown Heights. The staff is great at ensuring your insurance benefits get maximized and your out of pocket cost minimized. “Initially I chose First Impressions out of necessity many years ago. I was in dire straights with one of my wisdom teeth. Another wisdom tooth and many cleanings later, I go to First Impressions because they are my dentist. Nicole, The Doc and Queen command five stars across the board. First Impressions was the first and is probably the only dentist on the modern day Franklin Avenue. I was born and raised in Crown Heights. Before then I had to go to the NYU dental school on 23rd. Street in the city. Huge, welcome asset to the neighborhood. Cleanings are usually recommended every 6 months. I go every 4!!!!”

I had lost some teeth in an accident and had temporary implants put in by a prior dentist. But that practice went out of business without notice and left me in a bit of a lurch. Dr. Shahin was very understanding and despite me not having access to any records was quickly able to diagnose my needs, prepare a treatment plan and get me on the road to better teeth.
